Charles C. “Charlie” Rabold, 79 of Altoona went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning March 16, 2024.
He was born February 11, 1945, in Altoona, a son of the late Charles C., Sr. and Thelma M. (Border) Rabold. He married Marcia J. Kraft on June 15, 1968. She preceded him in death June 21, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Becky J. Stolarski of Altoona, and Julie L. Smith (Ken) of Duncansville; three grandchildren, Jacob Stolarski (fiancée Allison Cottle) of Mechanicsburg, Charles Smith, and Tabetha Smith of Duncansville; brother Raymond of Altoona; sister Thelma Anthony of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, sister Jackie Grove of Altoona; numerous nieces and nephews; and his companion of many years, Jan Carnell of Hollidaysburg.
Charlie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Oldham, and Susan Wachter.
Mr. Rabold was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
He was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School.
Charlie was a Pennsylvania National Guard veteran serving from 1965 to 1971 attaining the rank of private.
He retired as a sales representative for KBF Print Technologies in 2010 following 23 years’ service.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed singing with the Altoona Horseshoe Chorus Barbershop singers for over 29 years. He was a charter member of the Hollidaysburg Alumni Community Chorus for 38 years, and a member of the Heirsman Southern Gospel Quartet for 22 years. He also enjoyed singing in the First United Methodist Church Choir, and he was a past president of the Hollidaysburg Alumni Association.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday March 20, 2024 at Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 21, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with military honors following.
Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park, Cemetery.
